Description
Basic 2-bunk hut above the Opaewai Stream in the western Uraweras. Little visited excpet for hunters and possumers. Some 100m above the river, the hut has tank water, and an open fire. This is a standard-size Urawera Hut, but contains just 2 beds. There are views down the valley from the chopper pad. Access is from the riverbed due west of the hut (200m above the forks) up a marked, signposted track.
