Description
The hut is a four-bunk shelter in good condition, set in a well manicured clearing about 50 metres long. The shelter has a gravel floor and is without door. Each bunk has a mattress. There is a water tank that is replenished with rain water from the shelter's roof. The tank has signs warning that the water is untreated and should be boiled for three minutes. The clearing has two picnic tables, There is a park bench from which there are good views to the north and northwest. One end of the clearing has a toilet. The other end has the exit of the Challenge Mountain Bike Track. The track is one direction only for mountain bikers - they must start at the MTB carpark off Moumoukai Road and ride towards Repeater Campsite.
