In contrast to Te Panaa, Te Pua Hut is well looked after and has a friendly, homely feel. I guess the fact that you have to walk there rather than ride makes the difference. Tidy and full of character, Te Pua features 2 armchairs, a pot belly stove, 6 bunks and no graffiti.A good collection of odds and ends, old and new, grace the shelves. It's over a month since the last visitors - but with 31 parties in the previous year gets moderate use. 31 plus the illiterates, of course. Standard Hut
