A standard 6-bunk NZFS hut with Standard Hut with open fire. Tucked in bush just SE of the confluence of Waterfall Creek with the Kawhatau River - access is marked by a DOC triangle. Water is from Waterfall Creek beside the hut, and good swimming holes are 100m down the main river.
Generally a quiet hut, but gets some use from fly-in hunters and tramping parties.
