Description
(A feature shown on: NZMS260 R10). This island is usually reached by ferry, private boat or yacht, or kayak. The island is a bird sanctuary and there are strict biosecurity rules. These rules should be respected. The island is POTA park NZ-0616 and has the Tiritiri Matangi lighthouse, designated ZLB/091. There is the Tiritiri Matangi Bunkhouse, designated ZLH/AK-007. The island is also designated as the parks ZLP/AK-0028 and ZLP/AK-0567. A good spot for HF and VHF/UHF activations is on the grassy slope south of the lighthouse.
