Feature shown on: NZMS260 Q07 Pt R07; 'For some years the limestone was worked on the island, but eventually the cement works were moved to Portland. Maori name: Motukohe: motu: island; kohe: probably the native tree (Dysoxylum spectabile). The name may correctly be Matakohe, q.v.'
