Island between Coppermine Island and Lady Alice Island in the Marotiti Islands (Chicken Group). Hen and Chicken Islands.; The name was in longstanding and common use when submitted for approval by the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Auckland, in March 1966, origin and meaning unknown. Formerly known as Middle Chicken Island.
