Description
A small island located in the eastern approach to Colville Channel between Great Barrier Island (Aotea Island) and the north of Coromandel Peninsula. Feature shown on: NZTopo50-AZ35 484640; 'Waikato, off the tip of Coromandel Peninsula. Named by Dumont d’Urville on 20 February 1827 after the celebrated French naturalist, Baron Georges Cuvier.
