Description
A small island at 64m, located 1km west of Ruffin Peninsula, north of Coromandel Harbour. Feature shown on: NZTopo50-BA34 189291; 'Waikato, Coromandel Harbour. Descriptive of the shape of the island, referred to in a local history as ‘the Rat and its long tail’. The Whale and The Calf in the harbour were no doubt so named for the same reason.'
