Feature shown on: NZMS260 H41 Edition 1 1989 Reprinted 1994; 'Otago, St Bathans. Descriptive name. The ‘blue lake’ has been green since 1968, when a stream entered it for the first time. There are other lakes of this name in Nelson Lakes National Park; in the Garvie Mountains, Otago; and at the moraine of the Tasman Glacier.'
