Info Origin
A large farm dam constructed by the then occupier Mr W E Bennett - hence the name Lake Bennett. Dam has developed into an excellent wildlife and fisheries habitat with adequate shallows for wild ducks and, stocked with brown trout, it has provided good angling. Features of this size would usually be considered minor but because of its ease of observation from the adjacent road and its obvious wildlife values this dam has created an unusual amount of public interest. It is also on a regular airline route and is most conspicuous from the air.
