Info Origin
First named by T H Potts in April 1957, when he explored the country between the upper Rakaia and upper Ashburton Rivers, with Leach and Phillips. Potts named this lake after his wife. Named Lake Acland by later runholders, this was thought to be the original name, and Gazetted in 1953 page 86, but the name never gained common usage. Instead of Lake Acland (23/01/1953 3:86)
