This lake has public access. A gravel road goes down to the lake. I was able to travel down and up with a front wheel drive hatch back, but I wouldn't want to attempt it on a wet day.

There are two unlocked gates: one at the street end, and one before the carpark. The carpark has no amenities apart from a park bench. There isn't much space to set up an antenna with a large footprint unless you are willing to set one up over tall grass.

The lake is surrounded by small hills which may make getting out a little difficult. I was able to get to Christchurch with 5W and a loaded vertical whip.
