Info Origin
Submitted with a list of names in the Wapiti area of the Fiordland National Park, by the Fiordland national Park Board in September 1965. The burn and lake are named after retired Wildlife Division officer, Curly McIvor, who did a lot of work in the early days searching for Kakapo and organising Wapiti hunting in the area. Mr McIvor served from Te Anau for 30 years.
