A lake approximately 6.5km² adjacent to Lake Ferry (locality), on the shore of Palliser Bay. Feature shown on: NZTopo50-BQ32 780168; Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa Tāmaki nui-a-Rua statement: 'Wairarapa Moana comprises Lake Wairarapa and Lake Ōnoke as well as the Narrows ie the Ruamahanga River connecting the two lakes. All three names are highly significant to Ngati Kahungunu'.
