Info Origin
The name Mueller Tarn was first used on a pamphlet prepared by Nelson District "Guide to Tracks and Walks Lewis Pass Region". Nearby Mount Mueller was named after Dr Ferdinand Mueller, an Austrian explorer and botanist, who engaged in illustrating the botany of the Southern Hemisphere.
