A group of tarns including Paraumu Tarn, between Mount McRae and Peanter Peak, approximately 4 km southeast of Lake Rotoiti. NZTopo50-BS24 873616.; Ngāti Apa Tribunal evidence states that the proposed names mean ‘Purpose in life’. Ariki children were taken here in summer time to be washed, before presentation to the people in life.
