Feature shown on: NZMS260 X19 Edition 1 1990; 'Hawke’s Bay, near Wairoa. Correctly Whakamahia, lit. to make or force to work. Several men were forced to work in the cultivations and were fed on human flesh. On their return they said: ‘Katahi tera, whakamahia ai tera matau, ko nga kai he tangata tonu’ (We were made to work, and the food was human flesh).'
