Lake between Long Sounds and Lake Poteriteri. Two miles west of Lake Mouat.; Named after J B Monk, Managing Director of Amphibian Airways, a local company which pioneered aircraft landings on these lakes, and the pilot of the aircraft of the aircraft which made the first landing on the lake.
