Easiest activate from Deep Cove at the west end of Lake Manapouri. Take the Real Journeys boat across for the day - there are several sailings daily. You can wait for your return boat in the (unmanned) visitor's centre at the wharf, or maybe take the 1km walk to DOC's West Arm Hut and activate from there.
